Spiritual Growth

🌱EVERY growth is a process. Our spiritual growth is no exemption. From spiritual babes to spiritual usefulness, to fruitfulness, is possible only through the inner workings of Christ.

...till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." (Eph. 4:13)

God wants us to grow into full maturity. This is now possible if we are willing to be transformed radically by yielding/surrendering our life to Him. We are to be literally like Christ in character! The availability of the Holy Spirit made all these possible. It enables and empowers everyone to do them. God's Spirit prompts us to keep His righteous commandments through yielding and obedience as we grow.

The following actions requires an act or will through God's Holy Spirit:

1. TRANSFORMATION -- "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect" (Romans 12:2).

2. BECOMING A NEW CREATION -- "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

3. THE RENEWING OF OUR MIND -- "...and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness." (Ephesians 4:23)

4. PUTTING OFF THE OLD SELF, PUTTING ON NEW SELF -- "...and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him." (Colossians 3:9-10)

5. LIVE BY SPIRIT ('Not lust of the Flesh') --"I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." (Galatians 5:16; Cf; Romans 8:13)

6. BECOMING INSTRUMENTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS --"And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God." (Romans 6:13)

7. TO BE FREED FROM SIN (Slaves to God) --"But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life." (Romans 6:22) - RDH
