8 Things Jesus Never Said

Eight (8) popular statements most people believe Jesus said, but actually never said them (ABOUT OURSELVES):

1. 'FOLLOW YOUR HEART, you won't go wrong'. This is what Jesus actually said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him DENY HIMSELF, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” (Matthew 16:24/NKJV)

2. 'BE TRUE TO YOURSELF, be authentic!' Jesus said, "For from WITHIN, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders...pride, foolishness." (Mark 7:21-22)

3. 'BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, trust your instinct'. In reality, Jesus said, “Believe in God; BELIEVE also in Me.” (John 14:1) He further said, “Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” (John 12:25)

4. BELIEVE YOUR TRUTH. Everything is relative, you have to find your truth.' In actuality, Jesus said:“I AM the way, the TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)

5. 'YOU'RE A GOOD PERSON, there’s no need to repent.' The truth is, Jesus said: “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but SINNERS, to repentance.” (Matthew 9:13)

6. 'AS LONG AS YOU'RE HAPPY that's all that matters.' However, Jesus said, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and LOSES HIS SOUL? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26 ESV)

7. 'LIFE IS SHORT. You only live once, so do whatever you want.' In actuality Jesus said: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because NARROW is the gate and difficult is the way which LEADS TO LIFE, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14.)

8. 'DO WHAT MAKES YOU COMFORTABLE, I'm Ok with it.' The truth is Jesus said: “So if your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and THROW IT away! It is much better for you to lose a part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell.” (Matthew 5:29)
