1. 'I Came to Do Away with My Father's Commandments.' -- Jesus was very clear on this: “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." (Matthew 5:17-18)
2. 'I Came to Abolish the Sabbath' -- Jesus clarifies: And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” (Mark 2:27-28)
3. 'I Came to Break/Replace God's Law with My Own Law.' Jesus was emphatic --"Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:19)
4. 'I Came to Establish Sunday Worship Tradition.' --Jesus asked: "He answered and said to them, 'Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?...And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'" (Matthew 15:3,9)
5. 'I Came So You Would't Be Keeping God's Law.' -- Jesus plainly said, "So He said to him, 'Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.'” (Matthew 19:17) | RDH
